Roadtrip 2015 Fall: Vancouver - Astoria - Bandon - Anderson - Paso Robles - Palm Desert - Morongo Valley - Sedona - Henderson - Lone Pine - Sacramento - Ashland - Newport - Astoria - Vancouver

Day 43 - Chimney Rock Loop

You'd think that would be the high-rent district, snuggled right up against the National Forest and some of the best views in Sedona. Not so. It's really the land of Double-Wides. None are for sale, though.

The confluence of vortexes at Chimney Rock are something to behold.

A faux sunstreak.

I have officially redubbed our redoubtable Rock of the Day, "The Three Fingers of Homer". This cartographic change has been accepted and duly registered by Facebook and Instagram.

The World-Famous Yet Another Famous Rock. And that really is the high-rent district below.

Spot the Russ.

Soon Sedona will crawl up and over these hills.

Meantime life has come and gone from the most inhospitable grounds.

Amazingly, we think we hear the pounding horns and drums of Also Sprach Zarathustra wafting throughout... the... valley... wait a minute... it's just the vortexers again.

Guardian of the Red Rock Valley - never anger a bird.

The high rent district has crept up the hills almost to the trails. However, I have to admit, that is one awesome painting studio.
